The Oaks is a lovely, executive neighborhood that spans the Chapel Hill/Durham border (part of this neighborhood is in Chapel Hill and part is in Durham). There is an older section of homes built in the 1970s and 1980s and a new section of homes built in the 1990s and forward. These homes are very stately on beautiful lots and range in size, style and type. The streets in this neighborhood are wide and nice to drive on and there are sidewalks which makes it great for walking and safe for kids on their bikes and roller blades. The Chapel Hill Country Club is located in the Oaks. It is not a requirement to be a member of the club to live in this neighborhood.
